Edith Dinar

Edith Dinar (nee Waldman), born 1931 was educated in London, England, and qualified as a teacher. She came to Israel in August 1957 - just for a year and that "year" is not yet up over 50 years later! She attended Ulpan at Kibbutz Ma'ayan Zvi, taught in Rishon le Zion, worked for a couple of years as English Correspondent in a non-commercial bank, then in a Travel Agent’s, for 8 years at a Medical and Pharmaceutical Importers, and then for ten years at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, retiring at the start of 1994. She and her husband Roy Dinar (they married in 1960) joined ESRA upon retirement. Soon after, they started ESRA’S Bat-Yam/Holon Branch which they ran for nearly 10 years. Since 1998 Edith has been volunteering in ESRA’s offices doing administrative work. The Dinars lived in Bat Yam from 1961 until 2008, when they moved to Raanana. Edith is mother to 5 children (2 boys and 3 girls) and grandmother to 12 grandchildren (8 boys and 4 girls, the eldest 24 years old and the youngest 14 months).
